The Elizabeth Tower and The Shard, London. Part of the Houses of Parliament, the Elizabeth Tower houses Big Ben which is one of the World's most famous bell.

The mosaic ceiling in the Battistero di San Giovanni or Baptistery in Florence. Some of the earliest works date from around 1225.

The pretty Cotswolds village of Castle Combe. The village is in the north of Wiltshire.

The choir of the Cathedrale Saint-Pierre de Beauvais. It is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Beauvais, France. It is built during the 13th century in Gothic style architecture. The building consists only of a transept (sixteenth-century) and choir, with apse and seven polygonal apsidal chapels (thirteenth century), which are reached by an ambulatory. It is unique among cathedral as it has no nave.

The Chateau de Sully-sur-Loire in France. The seat of the Duke de Sully, the Chateau de Sully sur Loire is a chateau-fort built to control one of the few sites where the river Loire can be forded. It’s origins date back to around the 13th century with various additions being added over the centuries.

The beautiful castle and gardens at Villandry in France. This small castle and its village are within the confines of the Loire Valley.

The City of Arts and Sciences (Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias) in Valencia, Spain. The complex was designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela and has now become one of the foremost tourist destinations in the city.

The font of Salisbury cathedral, UK. The cathedral is one of the best examples of Early English architecture. Due to the short period of time that it was in, the cathedral has a consistent style that can be described as Early English Gothic. It was built in the 13th century and has the tallest spire in the United Kingdom.

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, Italy.

Abstract of the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris. The building features 240 photo-sensitive motor-controlled apertures, or shutters, which act as a sophisticated brise soleil that automatically opens and closes to control the amount of light and heat entering the building from the sun. It was designed by Jean Nouvel.

Piazza Vecchia in Bergamo Alta, Italy. A hilltop medieval town, Bergamo Alta is known for its beautiful historic centre. Piazz Vecchia plays host to both Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore and the Duomo di Bergamo or Bergamo cathedral.

Puerta de Europa in Madrid, Spain. Also known as the Kio Towers (Torres Kio), they were built from 1989 to 1996 and were designed by the American architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee.
