Landscape and Travel Photography workshops – 2019
So it has come to that time of year again when the following year starts to take shape. Travel plans are put in place for my own work as well as thinking about passing on knowledge to other who want to learn about all things photographically.
Currently I have 4 definite landscape and travel photography tours and workshops advertised on my dedicated page. There is a 5th but that hasn’t yet been confirmed as I’m working with another photographer on that and need to nail down his schedule.
So what can you expect from me workshop wise in 2019? Let’s take a look at what’s on offer.
January
14 – 18 January 2019
Glencoe and Surroundings Winter Photography Workshop
In January I will be making the annual pilgrimage to the Glencoe area of Scotland. A four star hotel awaits us as well as breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening. Knowing the area as I do I have found it better to offer dinner to people as part of the price as having to drive up to Fort William at the end of the day to then drive back again is a pain. It can be very tiring in the cold winter days and I feel it better that once we’re back we don’t have to venture out again and can enjoy the comforts the hotel has to offer.
March 2019
Eagle Festival, Mongolia (TBC)
An eagle festival is taking place in western Mongolia during March 2019. I’ll be working with Eternal Landscapes (www.eternal-landscapes.co.uk) on bringing you a tour with a difference. Don’t expect creature comforts but do expect to be capturing this stunning country.
We’re working on finalizing the details so keep an eye on the site for when it goes live.
March
25 – 29 March 2019
Isle of Skye
It’s been a while since I offered up an Isle of Skye workshop but I feel that now is the time to start again. A recent client saw some of my images from the area and asked when I was doing a tour there so here it is. Is it a good time to go? Skye is notorious for its weather and at times you can expect all four seasons in one day. But get over this and you have an island that is chock full of amazing landscapes.
May
4 – 11 May 2019
Tuscany
Run in conjunction with one of the UK’s best photographers David Clapp. We’ve secured beautiful farmhouse accommodation with views to the model city of Pienza. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a landscape photographer’s paradise and we’ll be taking you to all the best spots the Val d’Orcia has to offer. Expect misty mornings and poppy fields.
July
30 June – 06 July 2019
Provence
The very word conjures up images of lavender fields and rustic villages. Again run in conjunction with David Clapp we’ll be taking you to some of the hotspots this area has to offer as well as some lesser known places that are less frequented by other groups. From perched hilltop villages to the aforementioned lavender fields we’ll be taking you to the area’s best.
September
Landcapes of Mongolia (TBC)
Again run in conjunction with Eternal Landscapes (www.eternal-landscapes.co.uk) we have planned a photography tour of some of Mongolia’s beautiful and wide open landscapes. Eternal Landscapes are a company based in the UK but run out of Mongolia. They aim to give people a real experience of the country rather than look at it through rose tinted glasses. We’ll be securing both hotel and tourist camp ger accommodation. For some people it may be a challenge to leave behind their western values but if you do then you’ll be experiencing a Mongolia like no other company offers.
October
19 – 26 October 2019
Dolomites
Currently I’m speaking with a photographer to run this tour together. We’ve both had a number of people ask us to do it and I can tell you now we’re on the case! I’m just waiting for the other photographer’s schedule to be nailed down and once it is then this will be officially announced. In fact it will probably be announced by the end of October.
From the Dolomites you can expect fantastic mountain vistas along with vineyards and alpine forests turning various shades of yellow. This is going to be special and we’re going to take you along for the ride.
Visit my workshop and tours page for more detailed information on all the above.
